The fat content of the complete meals from our BARF shop can be supplemented with other fats. Up to 20% of the daily ration is allowed. Especially if you are very active with your dog. Why? The dog gets its energy from fat. If there is too little fat available, the protein is used to generate energy. However, this metabolic process (if it takes place over a long period of time) puts a strain on the kidneys. If a diet really has to be followed, the total amount of food should be reduced. The BARF ready meals can be supplemented with pure beef fat or oil. Goose fat or a piece of good butter are also fine.
